Turkey day has come and gone and now its time for the busiest holiday of the year to begin. You know what that means spending, spending, and you guessed it more spending. With all of the presents to buy, food to prepare and gas to fill your tank (To drive all the way to Uncle Bobs house), youve got a lot weighing down on your wallet. But have no fear because we have some tips that will help your wallet fight back against overspending during the holidays.
Saving on the Electronics During the Holiday
If you got a hold of some of the huge discounts on electronics during Black Friday, you saved quite a bit. But for those of you who didnt Im sure you have someone on your holiday shopping list who is looking for an electronic of some sort whether its a XBOX 360, 3D TVs, an Iphone, Ipad etc.
According to ChinaDaily.com, An all-time high of 226 million Americans flocked to stores and websites over the Black Friday holiday weekend, spending an estimated $52.4 billion!
Unfortunately, these electronics are will cost you a pretty penny with the Iphone 4s running above $400.00, 3D TVs over $500.00, and the Itouch 8gig at $250.00. There is a way around these expensive price tags though, and thats by purchasing the older versions/models of these electronics. Because there isnt much difference between the newest model and last years model, you might as well save yourself some money. Example:
- Iphone 4 (Old Model)
Price Range $99.00
- Iphone 4S (Latest Model)
Price Range $199 $399.99
The only major differences between the 4S and the 4 are that the 4s has faster network speed, higher screen resolution and a slightly better battery life. Other than that they are almost identical. You can see for yourself at Apple.com
- A reputable brand 40 inch flat screen television
Price Range $500.00 $600.00
- A reputable brand 40 inch 3D flat screen television
Price Range $700.00 $1,000.00
This doesnt include the cost of extra 3D glasses which can run you an extra $40.00 or more per pair
Is it really worth spending the extra $200.00 or $300.00 for the 3D capability?
